The Douglas Water Authority water cut-off policy is explained below.<\/p>\n
The 25th<\/sup> day of each month at 9:00 a.m. any unpaid accounts are delinquent.\u00a0 At that time a $40.00 non-payment fee will be added to the balance and water personnel will be turning off water service.\u00a0 The balance plus the non-payment fee\u00a0must<\/u> be paid in full before water service can be restored.<\/p>\n Payments made before 3:00 p.m. on the 25th<\/sup> will be turned back on that day\u2014after 3:00 p.m., water will be turned on the next working day.<\/p>\n Water personnel are not permitted to come to the door in an attempt to collect the delinquent bill.\u00a0 Water personnel will not be permitted to come back later in the day to collect a payment.<\/p>\n The Water Authority will allow customers a \u201cone time deal\u201d if an extension is needed to pay a bill.\u00a0 Your account will be charged $40.00 in addition to your bill amount, but your water can remain on until the last day of the month.\u00a0 The \u201cdeal\u201d will only be given one time<\/u>\u2014no exceptions.\u00a0 Arrangements must <\/u>be made before 9:00 a.m. on the 25th<\/sup> of the month.\u00a0 If your account is not paid in full by the last working day of the month, your water meter will be locked and additional charges will apply.<\/p>\n If you are receiving assistance from a church or an agency to pay the water bill, a verification statement must be in our office before 9:00 a.m. on the 25th<\/sup> of the month.<\/p>\n
